William Lomax "Billy" Huffman, 81 , of Buchanan, passed away Saturday, June 11, 2011. Billy was a charter member of the Buchanan Moose Lodge # 2182, served as Governor for over 17 years, received the Fellowship Degree, and earned his Pilgrim Degree on June 1, 1996. He had retired from Burlington Industries in Glasgow after 40 years. He loved NASCAR, fishing, and piddling with motor vehicles and lawnmowers. He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Violet Huffman; and brother, Charles Huffman. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Betty; son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Becky Huffman of Lake Como, Fla; grandchildren, Suzanne and Kris Ostling, and Eric Huffman; great-grandchildren, Tyler Daniel, Alexis, and Amelia Ostling, and Blaine Huffman; brothers and sister-in-law, Freddie Huffman of Wertz, David and Brenda Huffman of Wertz, and Jimmy Huffman of Troutville; sisters and brothers-in-law, Ruth Spangler of Roanoke, Catherine Padgett Bryant of Buchanan, Jo Ann Falls of Troutville, Rozelle and Kenneth Dillon of Vinton, Eleanor and Pete Woolwine of Greenfield, Ind.; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Fay and Floyd Hill of Natural Bridge Station. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, June 15, 2011 in the Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles "Chips" Doyle officiating. Interment will follow in the Springwood Baptist Church Cemetery. Those wishing to make a contribution, please consider the Buchanan Rescue Squad. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening (June 14) from 6 to 8 pm at the funeral home.
