William "Billy" Dewey Robertson

William Dewey Robertson, affectionately known as "Billy," passed away on October 24, 2023, at the age of 65. He was born on January 2, 1958, and had a remarkable journey throughout his life.

Billy was preceded in death by his father, Charles Robertson, his mother, Argyle Robertson, and his sister, Sherry Ann Bollick. He is survived by his loving wife, Robin Robertson, and two daughters, Keesha Gillespie (Ricky) and Tiffany Cruz (Dennis). He was also a cherished grandfather to William Gillespie, Jordan Gillespie, Kiahna Gillespie, Kayla Gibson (Jeffrey), Madison Cruz, and Sydnei Cruz.

Billy's strong and unwavering connection with Randy Taylor, who was not only his nephew but shared a bond akin to that of a father and son, was a testament to the depth of their relationship. Alongside Randy was a special niece and beloved confidante, Mary Taylor.

In addition to his immediate family, Billy is survived by his sisters, Shelia Abare (Mark), Debbie Nimer, and Pam Dull (Eddie).

Music was a great passion in Billy's life. He was a lover of blues and rock and roll, and his appreciation for these genres and artists such as The Rolling Stones, The Allman Brothers Band , Eric Clapton, and Hank Williams Jr. brought great joy to those around him. His warm spirit, enduring legacy, and love for family and music will be fondly remembered by all who had the special privilege of knowing him.

Billy was a proud Army veteran, having served with the 82nd Airborne. Following his military service, he pursued a career as a pipe fitter, dedicating an impressive 50 years to the profession. His dedication led to his well-deserved retirement from Virginia Sprinkler in 2021.

It was his wish that there be no service, however our thoughts and condolences are with the Robertson family during this difficult time.
