Wayne Taylor Conner

Wayne Taylor Conner, 75, of Buchanan passed away Sunday, February 25, 2024. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Jefferson Conner and Elizabeth Hostetter Conner Johnson; a brother, Henry Conner; a sister, Patricia Wright; and a nephew, William Conner. Wayne was a Staff Sergeant in US Air Force for over seven years and had served in Viet Nam. He loved the guitar and played gospel and country music. He also adored his grandchildren and spent every moment he could with them. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Barbara Thompson Conner; son and daughter-in-law, Chad and Julie Conner; grandchildren, Evan and Jordan Conner; sisters, Ellen (Bobby) Agnor, Joyce Moneymaker, and Gloria Jean Lewis; brother, Thomas (Mary) Conner; and numerous nieces and nephews. Wayne’s funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, March 2, 2024, in the Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home, 14920 Lee Highway Church, Buchanan, Virginia with Pastor Mike Tabor and Mr. John Baker officiating. The family will receive friends an hour before the service. Interment will follow in Oxford Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Lexington.
