Viola Marie Gibson Sloan

Viola Marie Gibson Sloan, 77, of Buchanan, passed away Tuesday, September 17, 2013. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cleveland Otha and Josephine Bayne Gibson and her husband of 30 years, Thomas Nelson Sloan. Survivors include her brothers and sisters, Junior Gibson and Randolph Gibson, Susie Sloan, Barbara (Jerry) Mundy, Wanda Smith and Kathleen Wood. Numerous nieces and nephews with special nephew Tyler. Special Neighbors, Melvin Childress, Jerry and Leigh Jones. Marie's funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, September 20,2013 in the Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Woody officiating. Interment to follow in Springwood Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday, September 19, 2013, from 6 to 8 pm at Botetourt Funeral Home, 14920 Lee Highway, Buchanan, VIrginia.
