Thelma Lillian Moran Thomas, 88, of Roanoke, Virginia, passed away on Thursday, June 6, 2019. She loved to read books and was the cleanest woman that ever lived. You could eat off her floors while she was apologizing for the house being a mess. Thelma was preceded in death by her parents, Edgar Lee Moran and Jessie Lowery Moran; son, Eddie Michael Thomas; sisters, infant Marie, Clara Marie Jolley, Lottie Gaynell Brickey, Nellie Evelyn Ayers, and Ruby Olean; brothers, Stillborn Moran, Charles Elmo Moran, Harry Alfred Moran, Billy Lee Moran, James Robert Moran, Douglas Ray Moran, Edgar Eugene Moran; and special friend Ernest Powell. Survivors include her son, Daniel Ray Thomas of Vinton; grandson, Joshua Thomas; sisters, Alice Irene Moran, Rosemary Louise Lee, Virginia Ruth McFalls; and brother, Wesley Linburg Moran; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends beginning at 11:30 am on Monday, June 10, 2019 in Botetourt Funeral Home, 14920 Lee Highway, Buchanan. Her graveside service will be held at Old Dominion Memorial Gardens on Monday also beginning at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation may be given to American Cancer Society.
