Tammie Lacks Frate

Tammie Lacks Frate, 52, of Troutville, passed away Sunday, June 4, 2023. She was owner and operator of Tammie’s Place in Buchanan just recently celebrating her first year of business with her loving staff. She was preceded in death by her mother, Sheila Sarver Hagy; brother, Roy Nathan Lacks, Jr.; grandparents, Robert “Nandaddy” and Lizzie “Nannie” Lacks; John and Delphia Sarver.

Survivors include her children, Rendyn Frate and Eden Parnell; fiancé, Frank Stebbins; father and step-mother, Roy, Sr. and Karen Lacks; siblings and spouses, Rhonda and Mike Foster, Elizabeth and Chris Wilcher, Kimberly Hagy, Jonathan and Mallory Lacks, Robert “Bubba” and Tiffany Lacks, Toby and Autumn Lacks; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The family will receive friends Thursday, June 8, 2023 from 12 to 2 pm, with funeral services at 2 pm. at the Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home with Pastor Terry Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Troutville Cemetery. The family asks those attending to please wear tie-dyed shirts in Tammie’s honor as it was her favorite “color”.
