He was born in Chicago and lived most of his childhood in Monroeville, PA, where he graduated from Gateway Senior High School. Stuart worked for 40 years in the food industry with jobs ranging from meat cutter to food service manager for five-star restaurants. Of Jewish decent, Stuart had his Bar Mitzvah at Parkway Jewish Center in Penn Hills, PA. Stuart and David were long-time active members of Crums United Methodist Church in Berryville, VA, and most recently, Bethlehem United Methodist Church in Rocky Mount, VA. A celebration of Stuart's life will be held in Rocky Mount later in the spring. Contributions may be made to the enrichment workshop that David attends daily: Goodwill Industries of the Valley (with note "Rocky Mount Day Support"), PO Box 157, Rocky Mount, VA 24151.
