Steve "Deet" Hart, 55 of Hollins, VA went to be with the Lord Saturday, April 5th, 2014. Steve, better known as "Deet", was born in Baltimore, MD in 1958. He grew up in the Shenandoah Valley where he attended Fort Defiance High School. He continued his education at Potomac State Junior College where he played football. Returning home, he was employed by ADOM Inc. as a Job Superintendant. Later he moved to the Roanoke Valley where he began working for B&S Transportation. After several years, he returned to the construction field as a Contractor building houses throughout the Roanoke Valley where he earned a reputation as a quality builder. Eventually returning to transportation, he worked as Operations Manager locally and was preparing to take a similar job in West Virginia when he passed away suddenly. Steve Hart was many things to many people. Loving husband, father, brother and uncle were just a few. He was a skilled hunter and tracker, and passed on that passion to his step-son and grandchildren. He took trips out west in search of bigger game whenever he had the chance. Whether he was holding his grandchildren or riding his motorcycle with friends, he was surrounded by people who loved him. Steve was the beloved son of the late Robert S. and Clara Hart of Mt. Sidney and Waynesboro, VA. He is survived by four brothers, two sisters, a step-son, two grandchildren and a valley full of people who will miss him dearly. Steve cut his own trail in life and he always chose a steep one. But he would have told you, "That is where you find the deer." Goodbye our brother, you will be missed. At the family's request, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Steve Hart Memorial Fund. A gathering to celebrate Steve's life will be held from 6-8pm Thursday, April 17, 2014 at Botetourt Funeral Home, Buchanan. 540-254-3000
