Sophie Hoinski Stelmaschuk, 102, of Thaxton, passed away Friday, September 20, 2019. Sophie was born on May 10, 1917 in New York to the late Lewis and Mary Hoinski. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Stelmaschuk. Survivors include her daughters, Marion Stelmaschuk of Thaxton and Pauline and John Hartmann of Riverhead, New York. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 pm with her funeral service beginning at 7:00 pm all on Tuesday, September 24, 2019 in the Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home with the Rev. Marina Gopadze officiating. Graveside service will follow in Fairview Cemetery ~ Buchanan at 11:00 am on Wednesday, September 25, 2019.
