Shirley Mae Smith Helmick

Shirley Mae Smith Helmick, 79 of Buchanan, passed away Thursday, December 21, 2023. She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Susie Smith; brothers, James, Robert, and Luther Smith; sisters, Mary Anna Hamm and Elizabeth E. Goodwin.

She is survived by her son, Vincent Helmick and his wife, Georgia; daughter, Lisa Ogden and her husband, Darrell; and son, Derek Helmick; grandchildren, Jamie Ogden, Stacy and Jacob McCamridge; numerous step-grandchildren; great-grandchildren, Sophia and Spencer Stump; sister, Betty Niday and her husband, Michael; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1-2pm Thursday, January 4, 2024 in the Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home and will then process to High Bridge Presbyterian Church for a graveside service upon arrival.
