Ruby Olivia Meyers Owen

Ruby Olivia Meyers Owen, 96, passed away Monday, November 5, 2018. She was born August 9, 1922 to the late William Hobert and Mae Howser Meyers. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jesse R. Owen; sons, Ronnie Owen and Jesse L. Owen; and daughter, Betsy O. Helms. Ruby spent her last years at Carrington Place at Botetourt. She was loved and cared for by a loving staff, and she also loved to be loved. Many thanks to Joanna in Activities for her kindness and love she gave to Ruby and Becky. She is survived by her daughter, Becky Morris; brother, Roy Howser; grandchildren, Randy Owen, Paul (Carlie) Owen, Charles Owen, Timothy Helms, Duane (Kathy) Helms, Jason Morris, Jonathan (Heather) Owen, Jessica (Michael) Thompson; and great-grandchildren, Blakely and Hunter Owen, Briana Helms, Makenzie and Hayden Morris, Kadence and Fintan Owen, and Kaylee, Emily, and Kore Thompson. Visitation will be held 11am with funeral service at 12noon on Saturday, November 10, 2018 in the Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Woody officiating.
