Royal Brown "Buddy"� Rodgers

Royal Brown "Buddy" Rodgers, 97, of Buchanan, passed away Thursday, November 19, 2020. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Watts Rodgers; his parents, Martell Oliver Rodgers and Bessie Owen Johnson; son, Kenneth Brown Rodgers; and sister, Rose Marie Rodgers Wheeler. Buddy had forty years service as a route salesman, product complaint manager, driver trainer for Dr. Pepper Bottling Company, retiring in 1986, then he began a twenty-year career for Botetourt Funeral Home as a Funeral Assistant, was a life member of the Buchanan Volunteer Fire Department and a dedicated worker for the Buchanan Firemens Carnival for over 30 years. He is survived by his children, Charlotte R. and Steve Cahoon, Jennifer R. Clark, Lou Anne R. and Jim Welch, Royal B. II and Beth A. Rodgers, Taylor (Butch) Rodgers, Brian (Trigger) and Sonja Rodgers; sisters, Mildred O. Cregger of South Carolina, Hilda O. Clark of Front Royal, and Maxine Hadley of Bozrah, CT; grandchildren, Allyson Cahoon (David Evans, fiancée) Samantha Cahoon, Cameron and Addisyn Rodgers, Kent Clark, Madeline Welch, K.B. Rodgers, Melanie Henson, Mark Rodgers, Scott Hampton; and cherished great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. The family would like to express their love and appreciation to Buddy's caregivers, Kendall Johnson, Rhonda Penner, Norma Broughman, Connie Sorrells, Rhonda Burks, Ruby Johnson, Barbara Crawford, Edith Austin, and Kristie Hayslett. Buddy's visitation will be held from 12 noon to 6 pm, Sunday, November 22, 2020 in the Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home, 14920 Lee Highway, Buchanan, Va. A graveside service will be at 12 Noon, Monday, November 23, 2020 in Fairview Cemetery, Buchanan with the Rev. Marina Gopadze officiating.
