Ronald "Ronnie" Eugene Anderson

Ronald ("Ronnie") Eugene Anderson, 69, of Troutville, Va., died on November 8, 2018. He was born on January 21, 1949, in Eagle Rock, Va. He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel ("Shorty") Eugene Anderson and Helen Kibler Anderson. Ronnie served in the United States Marine Corps, a PFC with the "L" Company, Third Battalion, Seventh Marines, First Marine Division during Vietnam from 1967 to 1969 before being wounded in combat in 1968 and was awarded the Purple Heart. He worked at the Roanoke Cement Plant and later owned R & D Machine Shop. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth (Liz) Anderson; sons, Wade Anderson (Stephanie); Ryan Anderson (Rachel); Mark Conner (Blair); stepson, Brian Lambert; step-daughter, Jennie Maldonado; brother and sister, Craig Anderson (Reena) and Susette Thomson (Dave); grandchildren: Madeleine and Carter Anderson, Ian and Owen Anderson, Braden Conner, Layla Maldonado, and Charley Lambert; as well as numerous special nieces and nephews. There will be a time of visitation from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, November 11, 2018, at Botetourt Funeral Home in Buchanan. Funeral services will held at 11 a.m. on Monday, November 12, 2018, at Eagle Rock Baptist Church in Eagle Rock, Va. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.
