Robert Taft Brown

Robert Taft Brown, 75, of Buchanan, passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2016. Mr. Brown was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Fincastle and worked at Webster Brick in Blue Ridge and James River Limestone in Buchanan. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Otelia Burns Brown; sisters, Ellen "Drucilla" Burrell; brothers, George, Andrew, and William Brown; brothers-in-law, Hoover Thompson and Clarence Burrell. Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Genevieve Dawson Brown; daughter, Karen "Evonne" and (Orlando Lee) Toliver of Troutville; son, Robert (Cathy) Johnson of Troutville; step-children, Sharon (James), Spring, Stafford, Franklin, Curtis, and Tim; sisters and brothers, Josephine, Minnie, Margeurite (Wilford), Bertha (Kelvin), Wayne (Nancy), and Jerome (Alice); sister-in-law, Jeanne and Patricia; grandchildren, Ashley, Taylor, and Tyler; other special family members, Howard, Evelyn, Diane, and James; and a host of relatives and friends. Homegoing services will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, March 26, 2016 in the Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home with Rev. Montie E. Brown, Sr. officiating. Interment will follow in The First Baptist Church of Fincastle Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1 to 2 pm at Botetourt Funeral Home, 14920 Lee Highway, Buchanan, 24066, 540-254-3000.
