Robert "Bob" Joseph Newey, Jr.

Robert (Bob) Joseph Newey Jr, 69, passed away at his home in Fincastle, VA on May 26, 2022 from a glioblastoma brain tumor. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Robert and Jane Newey, and his brother Richard Newey. He is survived by his wife, Jan; his brother, Kevin Newey (Mia Bruce); his sisters, Pam Carden (Jerry); Cathy Newey; and Diane McKenzie (Richard) along with brother in-law Randy Hartzell (Melissa); nieces and nephews and his fur babies Lexi and Bandit. Bob was born in Rome, NY on June 26, 1952.  However, his work as an electrician and IT contractor provided him the opportunity to work and live in many places throughout the country.   Bob and Jan moved from Atlanta, GA to the Roanoke, VA area in 2006 due to Jan’s job.  He loved the quiet country life, working outside, playing golf, providing electrical and IT services, vacationing in Aruba, and attending the various musical events in the area. Never one to follow normal conventions, Bob did not want a funeral service.  In remembrance of him, please raise a glass of your favorite beverage, hit a golf ball in his honor, or donate to your favorite charity.
