Robert "Bob" Gene Ailstock

Robert (Bob) Gene Ailstock, 75, of Buchanan, passed away Saturday, December 30, 2023. Born Dec. 7, 1948, in Covington, VA, he was the son of the late William Lee and Frances Hepler Ailstock.

Bob was a veteran of the Vietnam War and retired from Yokohama Tire Company after 30 years. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing along with his horses and rabbit beagles.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers William L., Jr., James, and Tom Ailstock. Bob was also preceded by his only child, Matthew David Ailstock.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Kitty Charles Ailstock; brother, Dan Ailstock (Elaine); and four sisters, Mary Sizemore (Gene), Ginny White (Walter), Mae Persinger (Marvin), and Brenda Ayers (Dwight); and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, January 13, 2024, at 2 pm at Mill Creek Baptist Church with Pastor Danny Quirin officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
