Richard Joseph Demello, Jr.

Richard Joseph Demello Jr., 61, of Fincastle, VA, passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2022, at his home. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard J. Sr., and Lorraine Ruth Demello; and his sister, Terry Shinn. Richard was a general contractor with EMCOR Local 99, where he worked about 35 years. He loved fishing and watching TV. He was a loving husband, dad, and grandpa. He loved telling his wife that he loved her, no matter where they might be. He loved his dog, Duke (named after John Wayne). He was a huge fan of the Three Stooges. He also loved his co-workers at EMCOR; they were all big buddies. He is survived by his wife, Diane Demello; daughters, Stacy Hicks, and Jessica Statts (and Stevie); step-daughters, Angela Sanbower, and Kayla Everheart; grandchildren, Danika Demello, and Skylar Statts; step-grandchildren, Jamy, Bryan, and Misty; step-great grandchildren, David, Lailla, Jacob, Skylee, Lore, Dakota, and Will; great-great grandson, Oliver; and sister, Robin D. Cherry (and Dana). A memorial service will be held at King Memorial Community Church, in Oriskany, on Saturday, May 21, 2022, at 2pm, with Reverend David Cox will be officiating.
