Rebecca Mcclelland Montgomery

Rebecca McClelland Montgomery, 87, of Buchanan, died Tuesday, October 16, at Friendship Health and Rehab Center. Rebecca was preceded by her husband, Earl Cleophas "E.C." Montgomery, Jr.; her parents, John and Harriet Brown McClelland; son, Thomas "Tommy" Montgomery; and brothers and sisters, Robert, Finley, Flora, and Libby. Mrs. Montgomery worked for many years in the Payroll Department at Kenrose, and later in life she enjoyed being a hostess at the Peaks of Otter Lodge, and as a CNA at several nursing homes. She enjoyed bird watching, hiking, and identifying wildflowers but most of all he enjoyed her family which includes her children, James "Jim" and Sharon Montgomery of Trinity, Texas, Rebecca "Becky" and Mark Bates of Carlsbad, California, Katherine "Kathy" and John Hammond of Buchanan, and Robert and Rita Montgomery of Murphy, Texas; daughter-in-law, Dolly Montgomery of Buchanan; sisters, Nina Brooks and Ann (Ed) Bradford; 11 grandchildren,16 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, October 20, 2012 in High Bridge Presbyterian Church Cemetery with Rev. Earl Clemons officiating. The family will receive friends Friday, October 19, 2012 from 6 to 8 pm at the Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home, 14920 Lee Highway, Buchanan, VA 24066.
