Peyton Hamilton Woods

Peyton Hamilton Woods, 95, of Cloverdale, passed away Wednesday, February 11, 2015. He served US Air Force as 1st Lieutenant. He was a WWII Pilot and ministered to inmates at the Botetourt County Jails for over 30 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Emmett and Grace Woods; daughter, Mary Carol Voorhees; son, Randall "Timmy" Woods; daughter-in-law, Marry Woods; brothers, Willie, Bishop, and Leonard "Joe" Woods; two granddaughters; and one great-grandson. He is survived by his wife of almost 73 years, Eva Woods; daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra and Bob BeCraft; Donnia Woods all of Cloverdale; Richard Voorhees of Martinsville; Linda Woods of Roanoke; sons and daughters-in-law, Norman Woods; Leon and Kathy Woods all of Fincastle; Pam Woods of Troutville; 17 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held 11am Monday, February 16, 2015 in the Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt with the Pastor Joseph Pjecha and Pastor Ed Bailey officiating. Interment will follow in Trinity Cemetery with military honors. The family will receive friends from 4-6pm, Sunday, February 15, 2015 at Botetourt Funeral Home, Buchanan.
