Paul H. Simpkins

Paul H. Simpkins, 67, of Buchanan, passed away Saturday, June 28, 2014. He was the owner and operator of Fireside Books in Buchanan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Noah and Dora Simpkins; sister, Stella Altizer; and brothers, Willard, Archie, Joel, and Clarence Simpkins. He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Bobbie Simpkins; son, John Simpkins of Washington, DC; brother and sister-in-law, Millard and Becky Simpkins; pet companion, Freddie; and special friends, Mae and Don Stegall, Jackie and Pete Bussey, Terri and Frank Snider, Norma Broughman, Sandy Rogers, Dave Parent, and Richard Jones. Special thanks to Dr. Richard Prokopchak, Lewis Gale Medical Center, and Friendship Health and Rehab for their loving care. Memorial services will be held 7pm, Tuesday, July 1, 2014 in the Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sara Stein, 3225 Mt. Joy Rd., Buchanan, VA 24066 for her loving care of all the pet orphans she takes in. The family will receive friends one hour prior the service.
