Patricia Lee Mallow

Patricia Lee Mallow, 49, of Fincastle, died suddenly on Friday, February 22, 2013. Patty was known by many nicknames, Trish, Grace and Patty Anne. Many will remember her fondly for her culinary talents, which included award-winning pies, cheese cakes and State Championship 'Deviled Eggs', and her many specialty ethnic dishes. Patty was born in Kittery, Maine at Portsmouth Naval Hospital; her father a member of the U.S. Air Force contingent based in the area. The family relocated back home to Levittown, PA where she grew up and attended the local schools including her graduating high school in Bucks County, Bensalem, PA. She pursued several careers in the culinary arts, and also was an active partner in a General Contracting/Painting company locally. Her most recent employment was with United Parcel Service in the Roanoke VA hub. Trish was married to her loving husband, Jimmy Mallow in the spring of 2010. She was pre-deceased by her adoring father, Albert Doras, and all grandparents. She is survived by her mother, Marie Doras of Daleville; her grieving husband, Jimmy Mallow of Fincastle; also a younger sister, Donna Snyder of Bracey. Patricia also leaves behind three daughters, Kristina Piluso, Mariella Hoffman, and Catherine Devlin; and her two step-daughters, Sara Mallow and Tamara Mallow. Patricia was a proud grandmother of Theodore (T.J.) and Skyler Piluso; Holly and Allysa Hoffman. Also survived by her aunts, Patricia M. Taylor, and husband, Mark; Judith Gambale of Fincastle; Sonja Franco and husband, James of Troutville; and uncles, William J. Haines and wife, Betty; Patrick Fifer and wife, Susan, of PA. Also aunt Grace (as fondly named by her mother) was an avid Virginia Tech Hokies fan, and enjoyed her many four-legged friends aptly named 'Beamer' (for the coach), Izzy, Zoey Mango, (felines) and her special dog/son Moe. She was also the proud 'momma' of 47 ducks, thus earning her the Internet name of Mommaduck Mallow. Visitation for family and friends will be held at The Church of the Transfiguration, 7624 Roanoke Road (Rt. 220 N) Fincastle, Va. on Sunday, March 3rd, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the same location on Monday Morning, March 4th, with private cremation to follow at a later time.
