Patricia Borden Coon Ellis

Patricia "Patti" Coon Ellis, 78, of Fincastle, Virginia slipped the bonds of this earth on June 11, 2013. She was the widow of Thomas Ferebee Ellis. She is survived by her sister, Angela Coon; her son, Borden Ellis (wife Michelle) and his children, Sophie, Cadmus, and Adeline; her daughter, Susan Ellis and her daughters, Amanda Smith (husband Matthew), her daughters Madyson and Jordan, and Michelle Chesson (husband Jonathan) and her daughters, Katelyn and Camryn; her daughter, Jane Young (husband Tim) and her daughters, Ashley and Hillary; her step-son, Michael Morrison (wife Angela)and his sons, Joshua, Cameron and Andrew; her step-daughter, Bobbie Funkhouser (husband Rob) and her daughter, Rebekah; her step-daughter, Betty Cline (husband David); and her sister-in-law, Janet Coon. Patti was born on February 6, 1935. She graduated from Fincastle High School, attended Madison College, and graduated from Cornett Business School. She worked at the Roanoke Cement Co. for 41 years. Patti was a community leader holding positions including: Regent of the Botetourt County Chapter of the NSDAR; President of the Women's Club; Vice Mayor of Fincastle; President of Godwin Cemetery, Board Member of the Botetourt County Historical Society, and an active member of the Fincastle United Methodist Church. Her funeral is to be held Saturday, June 15, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Fincastle United Methodist Church. Visitation will be at the Botetourt Funeral Home on Friday, June 14, 2013 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Donations may be sent to the Fincastle Volunteer Fire Dept., Botetourt County Historical Society, or the Fincastle United Methodist Church.
