Nickie Bolen Harris

Nickie Bolen Harris, 59, of Buchanan, passed away Wednesday, September 26, 2018. Nickie was a 1977 graduate of James River High School and 1979 graduate of Dabney S. Lancaster Community College. He had been employed by Groendyk for 28 years and Gala Industries for 10 years. Nickie was an Eagle Scout, his father and Curtis Keith was his Scoutmasters. He was a member of the Buchanan Baptist Church where he was a Sunday School Teacher and Usher. He loved all things Pittsburgh and UVA Cavaliers. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eva Mae "Sallie" Taylor Harris and Harry Bolen Harris, Jr; grandparents, Gladys and Harry B. Harris, Sr., and Della C. Taylor; In-Laws, Clarence and Estelle Trail; uncles and aunt, Nubbin Taylor and Betty and Louis Welch; Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Cynthia Trail Harris; sister and brother-in-law, Vicki and Jim Eubank; special uncle and aunt, Thomas E. "John Henry" and Becky Taylor; step-brother, Tom Witt; cousin, Ed Flint, and nephew and family James Edward, Crystal, Caleb and Olivia Eubank; sister-in-law, Becky McDaniel, niece, Susan McDaniel Pemberton; twins, Charlie and Conner; and many special cousins, friends, and co-workers. Nickie's funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, September 29, 2018 in the Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home with Elder Cleatus Newcomb and Rev. Mike Woody officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery~Buchanan. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 pm and 6 to 8 pm, Friday, September 28, 2019 at the Botetourt Funeral Home, 14920 Lee Highway, Buchanan, Va. 24066.
