Nettie Craighead Ayers

Nettie Ellamae Craighead Ayers, 94 of Roanoke, passed away Friday, July 29, 2011. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie Lee and Mary Virginia Funk Craighead, husband, William E. "Buck" Ayers, and sister, Lena C. Drewery. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Linda Carol and Samuel LeMay of Timberville; Pamela Sue and George Vaden of Dover, PA; sons and daughter-in-law, Michael Edward Ayers of Harrisonburg; William "Bill" and Cynthia Ayers of Stuarts Draft; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Flora C. Kelly of Roanoke. Funeral Services will be held 11am Tuesday, August 2, 2011 in the Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home with the Pastor Mike Huffaker officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8pm at the Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home. 254-3000
