Myrtle Asbury Moyer

Myrtle Evelyn Asbury Purdy Moyer, 77, of Buchanan, passed away Thursday, June 4, 2020. Mrs. Moyer loved yard sales and NASCAR. She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Virginia Asbury; husband, Glenn Moyer; brother, Raymond Asbury; and sisters, Shirley Dampman and Brenda Holt. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Rose and Paul Hurd of Buchanan; son and daughter-in-law, Frank and Mary Purdy of Bulls Gap, Tennessee; sisters, Linda Wilder of Taneytown, Maryland and Mary Mathis of Thomaston, Georgia; grandchildren, Angela (Jason) Hazelwood; April (Matt) Moulton; Thomas Purdy, John (Kourtney) Hurd, Stephanie Purdy, Steven (Patty) Purdy, Andrea (Andrew) Lawhorn, Lindsey Purdy, and Jaylyn Purdy; sixteen great-grandchildren; and her feline friend, Calie. Mrs. Moyer's funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, June 6, 2020 in the Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home, 14920 Lee Highway, Buchanan, Va 24066. Interment will follow in Old Dominion Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
