Mitchell Samuel Mason

Mitchell Samuel Mason, Jr., 64, of Vinton, formerly of Summerlee, WV and Antioch, CA passed September 22, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mitchell, Sr. and Joyce Boothe Mason; grandsons, Wyatt Samuel and Luke Samuel Mason; brothers, James A. and Jeffrey W. Mason; sister, Marlena Garcia; and step-sister, Linda Nava. He began his music ministry as the pianist of the Harper Quartet in 1981 and became the Minister of Music at Summerlee Wesleyan, Summerlee, WV; Antioch Freewill Baptist Church, Antioch. CA; Calvary Tabernacle, Roanoke, VA and Buchanan Presbyterian Church. Also in his musical life, he and Martha were part of several singing groups in California and the latest being One Accord. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Martha Ann Minnich Mason; son and daughter-in-law, Mitchell, III and Caitlyn Mason; grandson, Aaron Samuel Mason; brother, Mark Mason; sister, Kathryn Jean “KJ” Harper; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mitch’s Celebration of Life will be held 3pm with visitation from 1-3pm at the Buchanan Presbyterian Church on Saturday, September 25, 2021 with the Rev. Ben Peyton and Rev.
