Minnie Miller Leffel

LEFFEL Minnie Katherine Miller Minnie Katherine Miller Leffel, 103, of Eagle Rock, passed away Thursday, September 4, 2014. She was born in Buchanan on March 30, 1911. Granny Minnie was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis W. "Jack" Leffel, Sr., parents, Andrew Jackson and Annie Prease Miller; brother, Rodney Miller, and sisters, Emma Miller and Mary M. Wickline. She was very artistic in a natural way, an avid reader, history buff, accomplished cook and seamstress. She was a country woman and mother in every way. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, L. W. "Jack", Jr. and Mary Lynne Thomas Leffel; grandchildren and spouses, Elizabeth Leffel and husband, Darrin Hill of Berryville, Sara Leffel and husband, Fred Glover of Roanoke, and Anna L. Weddle and husband, Christopher Weddle of Troutville; and great-grandchildren, Jacob Hill, Holly Weddle, and Macy Weddle; sisters-in-law, Elsie Morgan, Jean Powell, Connie Cronise, and Mary (Bob) Falls; brother-in-law, Billy Leffel; and nieces, Nancy W. St. Clair and Katherine S. Wickline. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Sunday, September 7, 2014 in the Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home with Rev. Marina Gopadze officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Buchanan. The family will receive friends Saturday, September 6, 2014 for 5 to 8 pm at Botetourt Funeral Home, 14920 Lee Highway, Buchanan, Va. 540-254-3000.
