Mickey Allen Campbell, 48, of Roanoke formerly of Eagle Rock, left his earthly home to join his dad in heaven on Wednesday, May 14, 2014. Born in Eagle Rock in 1965, he attended school in Eagle Rock and graduated from James River High School in 1983, where he played football and ran track. Mickey spent most of his adult life in the grocery business as a meat manager. He loved all his customers and his coworkers. He was a very outgoing, loving, and free-hearted spirit with a zest for life. He was also a member of the Eagle Rock Baptist Church. Mickey is preceded in death by his father, Allen; his grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is survived by his son, Devin Campbell; daughter, Jordan Campbell; both of Roanoke, whom he dearly loved; mother, Margaret Campbell of Eagle Rock; sister and brother-in-law, Missy and Allen Wright all of New Castle and their children, CJ and Skylor; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Also surviving is his fiance' and the love of his life, Tuyen Huynh and her children, Lily and Dalina Le all of Roanoke. Micky was a "dyed in the wool" UVA Cavalier fan and never missed a football or basketball game. His wardrobe showed his "true" colors….orange, blue, and, white, GO HOOS. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Sunday, May 18, 2014 in the Eagle Rock Baptist Church with Rev. Billy Ronk officiating. Interment will follow in church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Eagle Rock Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home, 14777 Church Street, on Saturday, May 17 from 5 to 7 pm. In lieu of flowers, donation maybe be made to Eagle Rock Baptist Church in Mickey's memory.
