Michael Lee Garrison

Michael Lee Garrison, 68, of Buchanan went home to be with his Lord on his birthday, Wednesday, May 1, 2013. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Newton II and Mary Gates Garrison and brother, John Newton Garrison III. Mike was a member of Wheatland Lutheran Church. Being a member of the NRA, he was an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish and hunt. Smokey was a dedicated employee at Roanoke Cement Plant for over 30 years. Proudly serving his country, he was honorably discharged from the Army having served in Vietnam. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Margaret L. Garrison; loving daddy's girls and their husbands, Karen and Kevin Alexander of Eagle Rock; Michelle "Jo" and Matthew Puhlick of Lebanon, CT; Jennifer "Jenny" and Joseph Lasek of Eagle Rock; beloved grandchildren, Meghan, Benjamen, Collin, Blaine, Markham, Macie, Mahlen, and Corra Mae; sister, Mary Ann Myers; brothers and sisters-in-law, Walter "Doug" and Betty Garrison; Harold Charles "Tad" and Margarett Garrison; and Sharon Garrison; numerous nieces and nephews; and beloved dog "Rascal". Funeral Services will be held 2pm Friday, May 3, 2013 in the Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home with the Rev. Cecie Haxton officiating. Interment will follow in Godwin Cemetery.
