Mary "Rose" Rosa Lee Kelley Thrasher

Mary Rosa Lee Kelley "Rose" Thrasher, 84, of Buchanan, passed away Sunday, August 11, 2013. Rose was all about FAMILY, she loved to clean, take care of her family, making bread and cooking for everyone. She also loved to make you eat. She loved her church, her church family at Springwood Baptist Church, and had her own "Little Debbie" witness ministry. Rose was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Randall Conway Thrasher, Sr; daughter-in-law, Donna Thrasher; infant grandson, Robert Thrasher; parents, James Sr., and Ida Peters Kelley; sister, Kathleen Shelor; brothers, Lester, James, Sr., and Ray Kelley. Survivors include her five children and spouses, Debbie (Gary) Johnson of Eagle Rock, Conway Thrasher, Jr. of Belews Creek, NC, Kelley (Adrienne) Thrasher of Eagle Rock, Stephen Thrasher of Buchanan, Stacey (David) Clark of Roanoke, seven grandchildren, Lee Johnson, Sarah Thrasher, Corey Thrasher, Samantha Clark, Tonya Clark, Tanner Thrasher; two great-grandchildren, Sophia Thrasher and Courtney Johnson; brother, Richard (Joan) Kelley; sisters-in-law, Clara Kelley, Nadine Kelley, Betty Kelley, Phyllis Witt, and Genevieve Thrasher; brother-in-law, Ben Thrasher. We know KINDNESS IS HEARD BY THOSE THAT ARE DEAF. The family wishes to thank Dr. Charles Peterson of Jefferson Internal Medicine, Springtree Rehab Staff, and Good Samaritan Hospice. Rose's funeral service will be held at 11: 00 am, Saturday, August 17, 2013, in the Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home with Rev. Brian Clingenpeel and Rose Barger officiating. Interment will follow in the Springwood Baptist Church Cemetery with a Celebration of Rose's Life to follow in the Fellowship Hall. The family will receive friends Friday, August 16, 2013 from 6:30 to 8:30 pm at Botetourt Funeral Home, 14920 Lee Highway, Buchanan 540-254-3000.
