Martha Dudley Robinette

Martha Faye Dudley Robinette, 68 of Roanoke, passed from her earthly home on Monday, August 18, 2014. She was born on November 1, 1945 in Botetourt County, graduated from James River High School and retired from Carillion Roanoke Memorial. She is preceded in death by her parents Oler and Sallie Dudley; two brothers, Oler (Johnny) Dudley and Robert Dudley; brother-in-law, Alvin Snead. Martha is survived by her husband of 47 precious years, Kenneth Ray Robinette of Roanoke, three sisters; Margaret Overacre, Rosie Snead, and Phyllis Kessler; one brother, Calvin Dudley. In addition to her immediate family, she is survived by sisters-in-law, Yvonne Robinette Crouch, Brenda Robinette (Charlie) Hale, Brenda and Ruth Dudley; and brother-in-law, Wade (Tammy) Robinette and numerous nieces and nephews. Remembering Martha are special friends, Kathy Harvey and Ted and Barbara Hensley. Martha cherished many vacation trips Panama City, FL and loved the beautiful beach and sunsets there. Even though Martha was quite ill in May, she still wanted to celebrate their 47th wedding anniversary there this year. Martha was kind-hearted and loved ALL. Sitting on the screened porch watching the squirrels and listening to birds in her yard brought much pleasure to her. Martha was a lifelong member of Women of the Moose, Chapter 1022, Roanoke Moose Lodge. She worked alongside Ken supporting him in his Masonic Lodges and Shrine events. A service to celebrate her life will be held at 11am Thursday, August 21, 2014 at the Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Lithia Baptist Church Cemetery.
