Margaret Anne Lavinder Smith

Margaret Anne Lavinder Smith, 75, passed away peacefully Friday morning, June 28, 2013. Mrs. Smith was a Bachelor of Arts Graduate of Randolph-Macon Woman's College in Lynchburg, majoring in History. She taught at Buchanan Elementary School and James River High School and was the accountant for the family dairy farm, Ageon Farms in Buchanan. She was preceded in death in 1994 by her husband, Lacy Ageon Smith. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Lewis G. and Laura S. Smith of Buchanan; daughters and sons-in-law, Catherine Smith and James W. Jay of Adams, Tennessee, Elizabeth Smith and Matthew E. LaBell of Carmel, Indiana; sister, Irene Lavinder Wade of Maple Grove, Minnesota; grandchildren, Rene and Kimberly Smith, Victor, John, and Trinity Jay, Andrew and Megan LaBell. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, July 1, 2013 in the Trinity Episcopal Church of Buchanan with Rev. Jonathan F. Harris officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Buchanan. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Trinity Episcopal Church or the Buchanan Town Improvement Society.
