Malcolm Snead Austin

Malcolm Snead Austin, 54, of Roanoke, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, November 15, 2016. He was preceded in death by his father, Lewis S. Austin; and grandson, Evan Austin. After serving in the US Navy for five years, he was a Virginia State Trooper for over 22 years, retiring in 2012. He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Eric and Jill Austin of Daleville; Danny and Jenny Austin of Roanoke; grandchildren, Noah Austin and Caleb Meador; mother Emma Austin; former spouse, Betty Goad; girlfriend, Kay; grandmother, Ellen Leftwich; brothers, Gleason and Sam Austin; sisters, Faye Stanley, Theta Bailey, and Donna Austin all of Dickenson County; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 3-5pm with funeral services at 5pm on Sunday, November 20, 2016 in the Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home. Interment will be held 1pm Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at Kiser Cemetery in West Dante, Dickenson County, VA.
