Mabel M. Harvey

Mrs. Mabel Marie Harvey, 98, of Buchanan VA., passed away Thursday February 22, 2018. She was born August 25,1919 in Martining West Virginia to the late Henry Paxton and Mabel Wray Jackson. Mabel was affectionally called "Mu" by her family and those who were close to her. She loved God, her family, traveling, solving cross word puzzles, and attending her Church. She is survived by her daughter Terri Lyn and Jimmy Toliver, Daleville, VA; two sons, Al (Buddy) and Virginia Harvey, Columbus, GA; Steve Harvey, Buchanan VA; a very special granddaughter, Taiana Toliver, Roanoke VA, whom she loved so dearly and proudly helped raise from an infant; eight grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Alfred F. Harvey, SR.; her daughter, Shirley Ann Watts; four siblings, Nellie Barnett, James Jackson, Charlie Jackson, and Carrie Price. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 3, 2018, 3:00 pm at Botetourt Funeral Home, 14920, Lee Highway, Buchanan VA, 24066 with Elder Randall Jackson, Buchanan Church of God in Christ officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Buchanan. Family Visitation will be from 2 to 3 at the Funeral Home before the service. 540-254-3000.
