Lindsey Miller Austin

Lindsey Miller Austin, 79, of Fincastle, passed away Monday, April 27, 2015. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Austin and Clemmie Austin Newcomb; brothers, Hawthorn "Buster", John "Toby", and Nathaniel Austin; and sisters, Sadie Tolley, Alice Wells, Linda Shafer, and Isabelle Robinette. He loved his family and enjoyed chocolate along with his mustang, antique cars, hunting and fishing, and his four-wheeler. He loved sitting on the porch observing nature, waving at cars at they drove by, while he fed his pet squirrel, Pete. He is survived by his wife of almost 59 years, Margaret Louise Austin; daughters; June A. (Ken) Willis of Newport News; Deborah A. (Johnny) Wells of Buchanan; Judy A. (Richard) Craft of Eagle Rock; Donna J. Austin, Tina L. Austin, and Monica A. (Lewis) Ford all of Fincastle; 15 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren with two more on way; sister, Virginia Flint of Glasgow; and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held 7pm Tuesday, May 5, 2015 in the Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home. Visitation will be held at 6pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Lung Association.
