Linda W. Wickline, 63, of Buchanan, passed away Friday July 1, 2022. Linda graduated from the UVa School of Bank Management and was employed by VMI in Lexington as the Assistant Bursar. She was a huge supporter of agriculture and was a member of the Botetourt County Farm Bureau Women’s Committee. Linda enjoyed gardening and camping but most of all enjoyed being “Nana” to her four grandchildren. She helped Preston with various farm activities during their marriage and she was a driving force for the Sunflower Festival. Linda also was a huge Trace Adkins fan. Linda had recently been battling breast cancer and had just completed radiation treatments this spring. She was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Bobby Loope. Survivors include her husband of 43 years, F. Preston Wickline, III; her parents, Betty Jean Powers Watson and Ronald John Watson; daughters and sons-in-laws, Candace Wickline Monaghan and Patrick, Kristi Wickline Porter and Wayne; son, Bradley Adam Wickline; grandchildren, Ella Grace and Brennen Riley Monaghan, Haleigh Wynn and Addison Willow Porter; her brother, Danny Watson and his special friend, Pamela Milliner; her in-laws, Charles and Elizabeth Provost, Kate H. Loope, and Jane W. and Andrew Huff and their families. The family requests that you come in casual attire to the Celebration of Linda’s Life that will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, July 9, 2022, at the Sunflower Farm, 212 Wheatland Road, Buchanan with Rev. Chuck Miller officiating. Guests unable to attend the service are welcome to join the family for fellowship and reception carrying over into the afternoon. Inurnment will be private.
