Leda Jane “Janie” Dudley Deacon, 78, of Buchanan, passed away peacefully at her home Sunday, June 30, 2024.

Janie was preceded in death by her parents, Clem Preston Dudley and Leatie Goodwin Dudley; numerous sisters and brothers; daughter, Donna Deacon; and granddaughter, Jessica Kennedy.

Janie enjoyed working in her flowers and watching them grow, spending time with her family, and spending time outdoors.

She is survived by her husband of almost 57 years, Kenton Deacon; daughters, Brenda Hearn, Roxie Deacon Thacker (Rodney), Carol Clark (Bill), and Connie Woodson (Doug); grandchildren, Roxanna Carter, Hannah Kline (Kyle), Brandon Hearn, Dillon Hoback, Matthew Woodson, and Emily Woodson; great-grandchildren, Julia and McKayla Ashwell, E.J. and Jaelyn Shumate, Tyler Crabb, Haley Hoyt, Nate Hoyt, Hazel Kline, and Archie Hearn; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, from 6 to 7 pm in the Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home, 14920 Lee Hwy, Buchanan, VA 24066. Funeral services will be private.
