L C Harold

HAROLD L. C. L. C. Harold, 60, of Buchanan, passed away Sunday, December 25, 2011. A devoted and beloved son, husband, father and friend, L. C. was a respected residential and commercial developer, former agricultural chemical distributor, and an avid outdoorsman. Formerly a trophy hunter of moose, caribou, elk, big horn sheep, goat, bear, deer, and turkey; fly fishing in the streams of Alaska and Colorado were fulfilling, rewarding, and kept him busy. Traveling with family and friends provided many joyful memories. L.C. attended and supported Andrew Chapel UMC. His life of quiet service touched many lives. He held a Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture Education and a Master's Degree in Horticulture from VA TECH. His father, Lacy Ewell Harold, predeceased him. Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Karen Prease Harold; daughters and sons-in-law, Elaina H. and Jonathan Carderelli, and Kristina H. and Alex Lima; two grandchildren, Micah Carderelli and Vanessa Lima, all of Harrisonburg, VA; mother, Lena V. Harold of Ararat, VA; sisters and brother-in-law, Vickie Harold of Black Creek, GA, Hope H. and Eddie Carroll of Belews Creek, NC; and brother, Richard Harold of Cana, VA; brother-in-law, Michael Prease and sister-in-law, Brenda P. McCullough of Buchanan. A memorial service celebrating his life will be held Sunday, January 1, 2012 at 2:00 pm in the Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home. The family will receive friends following the service.
