Kenneth Wayne Winger

Kenneth Wayne "Kenny" Winger, 75, of Botetourt County, passed away peacefully at home Friday, July 12, 2013 in the arms of his beloved wife. Preceding him in death were his parents, Leonard "Buck" Winger and Mamie Wilhelm Winger; brother, Leonard Winger, Jr.; and special aunt, Margie Winger. Nothing was more important to Kenny than spending time with his family. Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Bonnie Rice Winger; son, Darryl Wayne Winger and wife, Janet of Troutville; daughter, Vicki Winger Shrewsbury and husband, Scott of Westfield, MA; grandchildren, Justin Winger of Richmond; Brandon Winger and Amanda Winger of Troutville; Austin Shrewsbury and Tyler Shrewsbury of Westfield, MA; and the many special friends in his life that loved him. Kenny worked for Appalachian Power Company for 34 years before leaving in 1990 to work full time with Winger Farm Equipment, the business he established in the early 1980s. In 1984, Kenny became the first Adam Trailer franchise dealer in the state of Virginia. The business still operates as Winger Trailer Sales in Troutville. Kenny served on Trouville Town Council and was a member of Mill Creek Baptist Church. The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the many friends, family, the Good Samaritan Hospice, and especially the Mill Creek Baptist Church family for the loving care and kindness shown to them. A period of visitation will be held from 3-6pm Sunday, July 14 at Botetourt Funeral Home, Buchanan. A Celebration of Kenny's life will be held at 11am Monday, July 15, 2013 at Mill Creek Baptist Church, Fincastle with the Rev. Dr. J. Randolph Daniels officating.
