Kenneth Ray Robinette, age 77, Roanoke, Va., left his earthly home on March 25, 2020, to go to his Heavenly home. Ken was born to Ival and Isabell Robinette in Rockbridge County. He went to Natural Bridge High School and lettered in football. He served with the US Army during the Vietnam War. He married Martha Faye Dudley from Buchanan. They lived in Roanoke and he worked for the Norfolk (Western) Southern Railway. Ken was an Past Governor of the Roanoke Moose Lodge #284. He was a member of Webber High Twelve Masonic Lodge # 282 A.F. & A. M. and Pleasants Masonic Lodge # 63 A.F. & A. M., Scottish Rite Bodies of the Roanoke Valley Honor Court/KCCH and Kazim Shrine Temple. He spent many hours on the road transporting children to various Shrine Hospitals. These families were appreciative that he always cared for their children. He had a welcoming handshake and smile for his many friends. Ken was predeceased by his wife, Martha Robinette; his parents, Ival and Isabell Robinette; and sister, Shelva Robinette Walker. He will be sadly missed by sisters Yvonne Crouch; Brenda (Charlie) Hale; brother, Wade (Tammy) Robinette; and numerous nieces and nephews and many friends. A short outdoor Masonic Service celebrating his life will be held for the immediate family at Botetourt Funeral Home. The burial will be private with Pastor Ken Calhoun officiating.
