Kenneth Ray Lawson

Kenneth Ray Lawson, 63, of Roanoke, passed away Wednesday afternoon, March 23, 2022. Kenny had been employed by Norfolk Southern and was a brick mason for many years. He also was a Cub Scout Leader. Kenny was preceded in death by his parents, George Ferrel Lawson and Norma Gray Hayes Lawson; brothers, Bruce, Larry, David, Ferrel, and Phillip Lawson; and nephew, Duane Lemon. Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Betty Moody Lawson; sons, Jacob Ray Lawson and Matthew Tyler Lawson; sister and brother-in-law, Jean and Danny Lemon, all of Roanoke. Kenny loved Kabota four wheelers and zero turn lawnmowers (He mowed as fast as he could with them), NASCAR, wrestling, Natural Bridge races, trucks, basketball, and football games. His funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 29, 2022, at 3:00 pm in the Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home, 14920 Lee Highway, Buchanan with Dr. Kevin Meadows officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before the service. Interment will follow in High Bridge Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
