Katherine Motherway Sprinkle

Katherine Motherway Sprinkle, 95, of Botetourt County and Greer, South Carolina, passed away Thursday, March 5, 2015. She was preceded in death by her husband, Garland Pershing Sprinkle, Sr. She was a longtime member of Wheatland Lutheran Church before becoming a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Greenville, SC. Kay served on the Lutheran Home Board, was a Cub Scout Pack Leader, and was actively involved in the Republican Party. She was a Botetourt County Voter registrar, was employed as a branch manager for the Bank of Fincastle, and worked in the Comptroller's office of Hotel Roanoke. She is survived by her children and spouses, Buzz and Nancy Sprinkle of Greer, SC; Pete and Denise Sprinkle of Fincastle; Jeanne Moomaw of Fredericksburg; Gerry Neely of Lebanon, MO; and Becky Beemer of Boones Mill; 14 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service was conducted at Trinity Lutheran Church on March 8, 2015. Funeral services will be held at 11am in Wheatland Lutheran Church on Friday, March 13, 2015 with the Rev. Ken Lane officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8pm Thursday, March 12, 2015 in the Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home.
