Josh Allan Lorton, 41, of Buchanan, Virginia passed away on December 26, 2013 of natural causes. Josh was born in Decatur Illinois and moved to Virginia in 1987. He was a graduate of J ames River High School and ITT Tech. He served a two-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Hawaii. He worked most recently as a custodian at Troutville Elementary School where he loved his job and the children and faculty with whom he had the opportunity to work. Josh loved music and was a talented singer, actively participating and leading musical programs at his church. His crowning achievement was his four beloved children in whom he took great pride and cherished completely. He is preceded in death by his sisters Jodi Louise Lorton and Betsy Ann Lorton Harris. He is survived by his four children Shannon, 17, Jason 14, Paul 10, Owen, 7, and their mother Leah Hoschouer Lorton. He is also survived by loving parents, Paul and Nancy Lorton of Buchanan, sisters Molly Aldridge of Chapel Hill, NC and Becky Christley of Roanoke and their families, and brother Jeremy Lorton of Roanoke and his family. He loved his 11 nieces and nephews, and they loved him. A viewing will be held at Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home on December 30, 2013 from 6-8pm. Funeral services will be held on December 31, 2013 at 11am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 6311 Wayburn Drive, Salem, VA 24153. Burial services will take place immediately following the funeral at Fairview Cemetery grounds in Buchanan, Virginia.
