John Trent Clemmer

John Trent Clemmer, 86, of Buchanan, passed away Friday, February 11, 2022. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Dolly Clemmer; first wife, Joan M. Clemmer; sisters, Nathalie McCullough, Virginia Hall, and Ferrell Amos; brothers, Curtis and Bud Clemmer; and granddaughter, Carlotta Smail. He is survived by his “wife” of 22 years, Shirley Hood; daughters and sons-in-law, Laurie and Barry Rhodes, Kathie and Walter Fowler, Cindi-Beth and Greg Lyons; 7 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; sisters, Bernice Campbell and Patricia Hylton; brother, Phillip (Eleanor) Clemmer; and numerous nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Carilion Hospice and all of his Buchanan Baptist Church Family for their loving care during his prolonged illness. Flowers are beautiful, however the family wishes contributions be made to the Buchanan Baptist Church Building Fund, PO Box 537, Buchanan, VA 24066 Funeral Services will be held 11am Wednesday, February 16, 2022 in the Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Woody and Chaplain Seth McCormick officiating. Interment will follow in High Bridge Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:30pm Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at the funeral home.
