John Samuel Boyd, Jr. “John Boy” “Skull” March 7, 1960 to October 8, 2022

John was born to the late John Samuel Boyd, Sr. and Vera H. Boyd. John had lived at North Roanoke Assisted Living for the past 8 years and enjoyed living there with the care of all the staff and associates. In July of this year, he was transported to Carrington Place in Daleville where he passed on October 8, 2022. He had worked at several places but the place he talked the most about was E.C. Pace. He enjoyed visiting and always looked forward to the New Year’s Day Family Reunion with lots of good home cooked food. He was also a big fan of Nascar, favorite driver being Dale Earnhardt, Jr. and absolutely loved his Natural Light!

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Samuel Boyd, Sr. and Vera H. Boyd; brothers, Lewis Hayslett, Walter Boyd, and Steven Boyd; sisters, Cathryn Dunbar and Susan Boyd Kauffman. He is survived by his brother, Gilbert Boyd (Madonna); sisters, Virginia Hayslett Harlow, Linda Boyd McGraw, Patricia Boyd (Norman) Brogan, Joyce Boyd (Donnie) Wilson, and Denise Boyd Linkenhoker, He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
