John Malcolm Dunbar

John Malcolm Dunbar, Sr., 63, of Fincastle, passed away Friday, March 18, 2016. Johnny loved muscle cars and reading dream car books and magazines, storytelling, and western movies. He never met a stranger. He was preceded in death by a son, Timmy Dunbar; father, Albert M. "Casey" Dunbar; sister, Opal Dunbar: and brother, Leslie Dunbar, Sr. Survivors include his mother, Elsie Niday Dunbar of Fincastle; daughters, Sherri D. Bennett of Fincastle, Christi D. Simmons and husband, Matt of Salem; son, Johnny Dunbar, Jr. of Troutville; sister, Cornelia Dunbar Pillis, and husband, Mike of Roanoke; sister-in-law, Donna Dunbar of Fincastle; grandchildren, Dylan and Brittany Bennett, Hannah, Shane, and Kacey Dunbar; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, March 23, 2016 in the Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home with Rev. Tracy Terry officiating. Interment will follow in Old Dominion Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm at the Botetourt Funeral Home, 14920 Lee Highway, Buchanan, 24066, 540-254-3000.
