John William "John Bill" Watts, 89, of Natural Bridge passed away Tuesday, July 4, 2017. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Saville Watts. He is survived by his daughters, Shelly Strange of Santa Rosa Beach, FL; Deborah Evans and husband, Mike of Madison, GA; grandchildren, Alexandria Strange, Sheldon and Shane Hebert, Andi and Hannah Dangerfield; great-grandson, Tristen Hebert; step-grandchildren, Jason and Tonya Dangerfield; step-great-grandchildren, Jack and Lily Dangerfield; sister, Juanita Martin of Mayodan, NC; nephew and wife, Bernie and Cheryl Watts; great-nieces and great-nephews, Christy Matthews, Hope, Jonathan, and Benjamin Watts. John Bill became a member of High Bridge Presbyterian Church in 1938, the Natural Bridge Ruritans for over 49 years, the James Evans Lodge #72 for over 60 years, and Rockbridge County School Board serving two terms. He was a lifetime farmer and the youngest of 9 brothers and sisters. Funeral Services will be held 11am Saturday, July 8, 2017 in High Bridge Presbyterian Church with Rev. Jason Grimes officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, July 7, 2017 from 6 to 8 pm at the Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home, 14920 Lee Highway, Buchanan, 540-254-3000.
