In the 1990s, Gregg returned to being self employed at various businesses in Botetourt County: Tinkerview Swim Club, Fincastle Motors, Fincastle Mulch and Stone, and The Virginian Markette. He was a member of Wheatland Lutheran Church, Lakeland Masonic Lodge #190, Roanoke Valley Scottish Rite, and Kazim Shriners. He had a lifelong passion for fishing, and could often be found spending time by the James River in Eagle Rock with his family and friends. A small private funeral was held by the family, however a public celebration of life, as he requested, will occur in the spring/summer to celebrate Gregg socially and joyously on the James River in Eagle Rock, Virginia.
