John Alemarine Blankenship

John Alemarine Blankenship, age 80, of Buchanan, passed away Saturday, March 28, 2020. Born in Amigo, Rowan County, West Virginia on October 25, 1939. Mr. Blankenship was a machinist by trade retiring from Menasha Corporation. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Lewis and Helen Virginia Rycroft Blankenship; sisters, Charlotte Elkins and Shirley Firebaugh; and sons, John Jr. and Wade Blankenship. Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Charles Scullion of Haledon, New Jersey; son, Scott Blankenship of Kingman, Arizona; sister and brother-in-law, Bessie and Kenneth White of Columbia, SC; girlfriend, Julie Mulvihill of New Jersey and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. The burial will be private in Roaring Run Cemetery with Rev Mike Woody officiating. Arrangements by the Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home, 540-254-3000.
