Joel Wesley Matthews, 50, of Roanoke, died February 16, 2022. He was born January 10, 1972 to the late Henry Mason Matthews Sr and Maxine Matthews. Including his parents, he was also preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents; brothers, Kevin Matthews and Henry Mason Matthews Jr. He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Daniel and Carol Matthews; sisters and brothers-in-law, Julia and Todd Smith and Rachel and Kevin Downs; nephew, Hunter Smith; and niece, Erin Smith.
